Lipstick Switch

Have you updated your lipstick for the summer?

It’s time to toss out the Matte and try Stain. The heavy matte  and shine lip colors can be a little too dramatic for the sunny summer days. Instead try using the ultra-moisturizing Tarte Lip Tints.

And as usual make the change and give me an update! I can’t wait to hear your stories.

Two-Tone Trend

I found and fell in love with the Three-Dimensional cheek trend.

You can have this look by smoothing a lightweight foundation onto your skin. You can use a sponge or your fingers to swirl a cream bronzer around the sides of your face in a large “3” shape (start at the temples, working down to the upper cheekbones and continuing down the jaw line). Then layer a cream blush along the apples of the cheeks on top of the bronzer.

This looks is gorgeous! The bronzer and blush has a double benefit. The bronzer brings out the cheekbones and makes your face look more three-dimensional and of course the blush gives off a glow.

Try the look and let me know if you fall in love with it.

The Ombre Lip Trend

We’ve seen ombre hair, we’ve tried ombre nails, but have you heard of ombre lips? Ombre lips are rocking the runway this season. What is Ombre Lips? It’s a fashion forward look that gives you the appearance of bigger and more defined lips. Not to mention–It’s about shading that creates a 3-D effect.

The key to this look is to find two contrasting colors in the same family, such as:

Red & Pink
Red & Orange
Orange & Pink
Burgundy & Red
Purple & Red

Make sure your lips are properly scrubbed and not chapped! Click here for lip scrub Apply the entire lip with the darker shade. Click here for lipstick shades

Then add the pop of color in the center of the lip (1/3) with the lighter shade. You can use your finger or a lip brush. You can use a matte shade, a shimmer or slightly metallic finish (will add more dimensions and make your lips look even bigger). Be sure to lightly blend the edge of the colors together so the contrast isn’t too drastic. You can either leave lips the way they are, or apply gloss for the overall finish!

Will you be trying this look? Send me a pic of your look.
